Green Mt Monastery is located on 160 acres of field and boreal forest in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont in the town of Greensboro.
The Northeast Kingdom is the 3 county NE corner of the state bordering Canada. It was given its name in 1949 by the late Senator George Aiken who celebrated this region’s wildness and beauty, a “kingdom” of moose, bear, balsam fir and white birch.
Greensboro and surroundings boast of the beautiful Highland Lodge, Caspian Lake, Bread and Puppet Theater, Claire’s Restaurant, Buffalo Mountain Co-op, Circus Smirkus, Craftsbury Outdoor Center , Galaxy Bookshop, and a host of many other creative uplifting endeavors.
